How Florastor Works
Florastor has been observed to work in the following ways:
A) Anti-toxinic:
Florastor produces proteins which work to neutralize bacterial toxins.1 2 This may include the toxins produced by Clostridium difficile.
B) Anti-microbial:
Florastor adheres to pathogens, which decreases their adhesion to the intestinal wall and decreases invasion of enterocytes into the body 8 10. These pathogens are then removed during bowel movements.
C) Enzymatic activity:
Florastor produces polyamines which lead to a reduction in viral-induced watery diarrhea3
D) Immune enhancement:
Prevents infection by stimulating the immune system along the GI lining by increasing the protective antibody IgA 4.10
E) Anti-inflammatory:
Florastor causes a decrease in pro-inflammatory cytokines6
